I’ve been doing a fair amount of reading for the last, uh, 103 weeks or so.

On my kindle I’ve read 20 books so far this year, which feels low? But I don’t think actually is. I’ve read between 32 and 35 books each year on my kindle between 2019 and 2021. I also have another app, mymustreads (I think) which I use with digital books from bookshop.org, but I haven’t read anything on it at all this year, unfortunately. I’ve got two paper books going, and 4 paper books lined up for vacation in August. Mostly, when I read, it’s at night when I’m falling asleep. Which accounts for my going to sleep at 1am a lot, which isn’t great.
Anyway, I’m tired and have read a lot of Agatha Christie, who is the absolute queen of devastating descriptions. Though I have Barbara Pym on my list, as she has been recommended in this vein.
