Well. Now what?

Bloganuary is over. It’s Februboring. And I have to come up with my own ideas – like a chump.

I’ve been thinking a lot about work lately, like, can’t sleep, wake up thinking about it, and so on. All good, but I’ve got too many threads to cover, and will wait to write more about that when I’ve got a better handle on my own thoughts.

So the random leavings it is! Leftovers for dinner, is basically the theme of this post.

For whatever reason (I truly don’t know why), I’ve been thinking a lot about Sealab 2021 and Aqua Teen Hunger Force the past few days. The other day I couldn’t find the remote, and yelled “WHERE IS THE UNIVERSAL REMONSTER” and I’ve asked this of my family enough times that they don’t think it means anything other than “remote.” Bless all our little hearts. Universal Remonster is a monster/alien made out of universal remotes. This is the kind of joke that will make me laugh every single time. I first saw the episode (linked above) in grad school, and I think about the Universal Remonster often. Another thing I think about probably a bit too often is the “still waters run deep” monologue that Carl has about his pool. It’s certainly what I immediately think about whenever someone actually says “still waters run deep.” I can’t help it, it’s who I am.

Sealab 2021 is a satirical reboot of Sealab 2020 and is absurd. For reasons I’m not investigating (boring) it is strongly associated with Archer for me. When I think about Archer, I think about Jessica Walters, and how absolutely brilliant she was, especially in Arrested Development. She was so, so good. Judy Greer is in both Archer and Arrested Development, too, and she’s really great too. Fun to watch, elevates every scene she’s in, and her delivery is impeccable.

That’s it. That’s all I’ve got.
