Fifteens!

I have said this every year, but fifteen seems too real. They’re real teenagers now. My babies!

When we sing happy birthday to them, they sing to each other. Here’s some history from past years…

This year, Eleanor had two friends stay over on Halloween (Mia and Rachel); Eleanor was Hatsune Miku, and Mia and Rachel were House and Wilson. Henry was Henry. On Nov 1, Henry’s friends Asher and Aiden came over and I took them on a hike at Kinzua Bridge State Park in PA (Aiden put this trip together, I was just the driver). Grant came along, and I have never seen a pack of 15- and 16-year old boys play with a 10-year old so well for so long. First came the hike, then came the playground for an hour. Good thing they’re all in cross country, or they never would have lasted.

They’re starting to talk about getting jobs and learning to drive, so knowing that they’re just three short years from 18 is very difficult! Of course we’ll still have Grant at home, but I’m not sure I’m ready for my independence.
