I’ve been working on this octopus on and off for nearly a year. I like the octopus itself quite a lot, in particular the tentacles feel successful. I like the illustrated look and feel, thanks to the inked outline.

Less well executed is, of course, the water. I want to add bubbles, but I think I made an error early on by not planning them from the outset. Bubbles at this stage will just feel on top, and I’d rather they look properly incorporated. The water itself got a little too muddy in the top as well.

Overall, however, I’m excited to continue and have ordered bigger paper to do it right.
