The past 8 or so weeks the twins have been playing indoor soccer at the Y. Fortunately for my sanity – but unfortunately for their team – they were both on the same team, the Reds. I say unfortunately, because they both take after me in their grace and athleticism on the pitch. When one of them wasn’t actively pouting, the other might be gazing at the ceiling or waving at me. At least half the goals saved were purely accidentally. They took many breaks during play to hug or hold hands. It sounds sweet and charming because it was. They’re six and have never played before. They had a lot of fun and learned quite a bit. Yesterday were their last two games of the season, and they all got medals and to shake hands with the coach. They were so proud.
