My two sweet big kids trooped off to their first day of kindergarten today. Because North Carolina has a significantly different age cut-off for starting kindergarten, Henry and Eleanor are much older than everyone in their classes, at nearly 6. They are also split up for the first time. Henry told me he was looking forward to meeting some other boys and making friends, and Eleanor just seemed pleased to be going somewhere new with new people to influence.
I took a photo of their first-day outfits (they each picked out their own) the other day:
And here they are outside their new school this morning, happy despite the rain:
In about a second they’ll be off to college and won’t need me at all anymore! My babies! Thankfully I still have one loud, cute, pushy one at home (until Monday when he starts daycare and all my babies leave me).
