Two gals (and a baby)

Eleanor and I (and Grant, who is destined to always be the third wheel) had a date today.

First, we visited the Orange County Historical Museum, which is closed until Oct 7 – but the outside of the building is nice.

Then, we got gelato. At the shop, Ele chose dark chocolate but the clerk suggested she try it first. She took a sample, licked her lips and declared “YUM!” We took our gelatos to a table and sat and chatted while I tried to not drip on Grant’s head.

After gelato, we walked to Weaver Street Market and picked out some lemonades, which we drank in the outdoor seating area.

After that, we walked on past the market, and visited the stick house. After Ele played maybe a minute, she came back to me and said, “I miss Henry” (he’s on an adventure with Bob).

We walked back and Ele picked a restaurant to eat at (the Wooden Nickel) and a table to sit at. The older couple next to us heard Ele asking me to name all the kinds of lettuce (which should give you an idea of how our entire day went), and recommended grilling romaine and also texted me the recipe for their favorite crab cakes. It was pretty neat, I must say.

After eating, we headed home and cuddled and after her bath, Ele was thrilled when Chester hopped in her bed and purred her to sleep.

It was a good day
