Grant bought me a necklace for free the other day from a neighbor’s yard sale. It was a quarter, but the neighbor let him have it for free. Grant tried to take him a quarter, but he wouldn’t take it, which was kind. And then Grant tried to help him sell, which I put a stop to (because even though it’s very kind of Grant, I’m sure Stu didn’t want to manage him).
Grant begged me to wear it for mother’s day, which I did. We were at our neighbor’s (different neighbor) with all the other parents in the neighborhood, having a morning fire, coffee, donuts for the kids, and freshly made breakfast burritos for the moms. And one of us was outshining everyone, including the sun.

I wore it all day. It’s surprisingly heavy.
Grant has suggested that I wear it to the mother/son dance at school on Friday, so I will of course, and he also drew me a portrait wearing it. The likeness is uncanny.

He’s been working on drawing eyes, and he wants me to give him an art lesson on it this weekend. He saw a drawing I was working on and requested a lesson.

He told me he had learned that eyes aren’t round all the way around, so he’s already well on his way to learning the important lessons.
He also drew me pegwen, which is fantastic in all ways.

He’s been doing so, so well lately, and I am so happy about it! He has a lot of love to give, and it gets stuck behind his ODD sometimes. Now that he’s switched meds he is so sunny and kind – and he loves showering his mom in drawings and jewelery and I am incredibly proud of his big heart.
